CLIPPER DOCK, BOAT RAMP, T-HEAD
Texas A&M University at Galveston (TAMUG) is located on Pelican Island along the Galveston Ship Channel. Projects for TAMUG have included, but are not limited to:
- Ship Operation Support Facility (Clipper Dock)
Expansion of an existing dock to accommodate the University’s training vessel, approximately 473’ long. Project included installation of concrete piling, cast-in-place concrete caps, deck slabs, and paving. - Small Boat Basin – Boat Ramp
Construction of a small vessel boat ramp and launch support pier. Project included installation of steel sheet piling, dewatering, cast-in-place concrete cap, wood pile installation, wood decking, and concrete paving. - Shoreline Protection & Erosion Control, T-Head
This was a design-build project requiring to protect the existing shoreline from erosion and reduce the sediment deposit in the University’s vessel berthing location. The final design consisted of steel pipe and sheet pile combination wall/ T-Head, and pre-cast concrete deck slabs for a walking surface.
